A multidisciplinary contractor providing safety, compliance, and technical excellence throughout the UK

One accountable partner for the whole picture

Spectra is a trusted national provider of specialised services, including asbestos management, enabling works, demolition, fire protection, environmental remediation, thermal insulation, damp and mould remediation, carpentry, and compliance consultancy. With decades of combined experience, we support contractors, developers, housing providers, and public sector organisations with safe, compliant, and technically sound solutions at every project stage.

Initially founded as an asbestos consultancy and removal contractor, Spectra has grown into a full-service provider with specialised divisions in air testing, surveying, licensed asbestos removal, fire protection, enabling works, soft strip demolition, land remediation, and more. That breadth is deliberate. Staying in one narrow lane limits the growth, resilience, and value a contractor can offer in today's building safety environment, and clients increasingly want one accountable partner who can deal with the whole picture. Our leadership and technical teams collectively bring over 50 years of experience in asbestos operations, site preparation, environmental safety, project management, and regulatory compliance.

What we hold ourselves to

We keep enhancing our capabilities while staying true to our core values. These principles direct every project we take on, whether it is a large industrial remediation programme, a residential refurbishment, or a high-risk environment that demands meticulous technical control.

Quality

We look at the jobs that go well as closely as the ones that give us trouble, because understanding why something ran smoothly is usually what fixes the things that did not.

Professionalism

Accredited processes, highly trained staff, and reporting shaped around how a client's own commercial team wants to see information.

Responsiveness

Nationwide response with independent professional advice, so decisions are not held up waiting for someone to come back to you.

Integrity

We are not built to win every job going on the lowest price. We contract on our terms and work in genuine partnership with clients who value getting it right.

Right every time, not most of the time

With nationwide coverage and a portfolio spanning commercial, residential, industrial, and public sector projects, Spectra provides a reliable, end-to-end service built on accredited processes, highly trained staff, and a dedication to high standards. Our goal is straightforward: to deliver safe, compliant, and effective solutions that let clients develop their projects with confidence.

As a licensed contractor we are subject to unannounced audits from the HSE and from our trade association, and the expectation is that we are right every time. We take that a step further than the audit itself. We look at the jobs that go well as closely as the ones that give us trouble, because understanding why something ran smoothly is usually what fixes the things that did not.

Introducing our team of highly experienced sector experts

Our directors and senior technical staff stay close to the detail. Between them they hold the professional memberships, qualifications, and industry positions that set the standards the rest of the sector works to.

Managing Director

Perry Winch

As Managing Director of Spectra, Perry oversees a diverse business providing specialised services across the UK. Under his guidance, Spectra has grown from a trusted asbestos consultancy into a full-service provider offering enabling works, demolition, asbestos surveying and removal, fire protection, land remediation, damp and mould solutions, thermal insulation, and new-build carpentry.

With more than four decades in the industry, Perry is a firm believer in never asking anyone to do something he could not do himself, and he stays close to the technical detail rather than delegating it entirely. His professional memberships and qualifications back that conviction, and he maintains them through regular refresher training that runs from his level down through the whole business. His dedication to quality, professionalism, and safety supports every division, ensuring Spectra consistently delivers dependable, compliant, and cost-efficient solutions for clients nationwide.

Perry continues to focus on driving ongoing improvement, raising compliance standards, and supporting clients with safe, efficient, and technically sound project delivery.

David Harrison, Director of Asbestos Removals
Director of Asbestos Removals

David Harrison

David heads up Spectra's asbestos removal division and brings a commercial background to it. He trained as a quantity surveyor and worked on the main contractor side before moving into the specialist world, which shapes how projects are priced, presented and reported. Knowing how a client's own commercial team wants to see information takes a lot of friction out of a job and cuts down the back and forth that slows projects up.

He has delivered licensed removal on major schemes including Battersea Power Station, Ferrybridge and Shell Tower, alongside national frameworks and work in high-security and live operational environments. David has been elected twice to the ARCA governing council. He is currently deputy chairman and takes over as chairman in October, which gives him a view of where the industry as a whole is heading and the standards it is working towards.

Senior Consultant and Quality Manager

Darren Chinnery

Darren leads Spectra's consultancy and quality function, covering asbestos surveying, air testing, and the accreditation regime that sits behind both. He is responsible for the training and induction that turns a newly qualified surveyor into someone who can be trusted on site alone, with most of that time spent on material and priority assessment, because that is where surveys live or die.

He maintains Spectra's UKAS schedules and internal audit programme, and reviews reports against the Analysts' Guide as a benchmark rather than a formality. Clients dealing with live and occupied buildings, retail and banking estates, or large cyclical survey programmes typically deal with Darren directly.
